Drydocks World Becomes the First Government Entity in Dubai and UAE to Join the UN General Protocol for SDGs Certification Program

The UN General Protocol for SDGs (UNGP) is pleased to officially announce a landmark partnership with Drydocks World. Marking a historic moment as Drydocks World becomes the first government entity in Dubai and United Arab Emirates, to join the UNGP Certification Program, affirming its commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through structured, actionable, and measurable action.
At this stage Drydocks World has officially signed on to Tier 1: Commitment to UN SDGs of the UNGP Certification Program, signaling its commitment to aligning with the UN 2030 Agenda. At the certificate presentation ceremony, Drydocks World also confirmed its advancement to Tier 2: Certification of Fulfillment, demonstrating progress in documenting its alignment with selected SDGs. Looking ahead, Drydocks World plans to progress to Tier 3: Certification of Implimentation, which includes in-depth on-site assessments of prioritized SDG implementation.
In addition, Drydocks World is intended to become the first Endorsed Partner of UNGP, a designation that would formally recognize the organization’s exemplary commitment, integrity, and leadership in driving UN SDGs. If selected, this milestone would mark a strategic shift to foster a transformative ecosystem in Dubai and the UAE region, and demonstrating Drydocks World’s global influence in sustainable innovation and international cooperation.
UNGP recognizes Drydocks World as a significant and valued partner. Upon acquiring the Endorsed Partner status, Drydocks World will be invited to play a pivotal supporting role in shaping the oversight and strategic direction of a multi-million dollar fund projected to empower and support non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and grassroots initiatives across Dubai, including those affiliated with the United Nations, in accelerating the local adoption of the UN SDGs. Through this initiative, UNGP and Drydocks World will work hand-in-hand to strengthen non-profit capacity and scale community-driven solutions— reinforcing Dubai’s leadership in sustainable development on the global stage. Drydocks World’s participation in the UNGP’s Endorsed Partner Program is more than a corporate commitment, it is indeed a bold and strategic step toward establishing a more equitable, resilient, and globally respected future for Dubai and the wider region.
