UNGP for SDGs (UNGP) is pleased to announce that it has been approved for membership in the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), joining a global community working to advance practical solutions for sustainable development.
SDSN’s Strategy Council has enthusiastically approved UNGP for membership in the Network, providing UNGP with an additional platform for international knowledge exchange, collaboration and engagement with institutions and practitioners working across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As UNGP’s designated SDSN Member Focal Point, Professor Tak On Chan (Kelvin), JP, Director-General of UNGP, will coordinate the organization’s engagement with SDSN and its member community.
As part of the membership, UNGP’s designated focal point will have privileged access to SustainChain, SDSN’s member communication platform, enabling members to connect with sustainable development experts, identify relevant activities and events, and explore opportunities for collaboration and funding.
SDSN has also indicated its intention to explore further opportunities for collaboration with its members in research, Solutions Initiatives and policy work, while inviting members to propose joint initiatives and areas where SDSN may support their work.
For UNGP, this membership represents an important opportunity to strengthen the connection between knowledge, policy and practical SDG implementation.
Through this new international platform, UNGP will seek to:
Strengthen knowledge exchange and capacity-building on SDG implementation;
Develop connections with universities, research institutions, policymakers and sustainability practitioners;
Explore collaborative research, policy and Solutions Initiatives;
Advance practical work relating to climate, food security, AI, human rights and inclusive development; and
Create opportunities for youth, women, entrepreneurs and communities to participate in sustainable development initiatives.
UNGP looks forward to contributing its experience and perspectives to the SDSN community while continuing to build practical, cross-sector approaches to advancing the 2030 Agenda.
This membership marks another step in UNGP’s continuing commitment to turning sustainable development commitments into practical action and measurable impact.
