April 2016: Korean Corner’s Guinness World Record-Breaking Paper Maze at D. Park

Updated: Sep 19

As part of the grand reopening of D. Park, one of Hong Kong’s most iconic family shopping malls managed by New World Development, Korean Corner Green Project (now UNGP for SDGs) designed and assembled a stunning 10.35m x 10.47m, 100% recyclable paper maze. This incredible installation broke the Guinness World Record at the time for being the largest sculpture of its kind in the world.

The event welcomed over 1,000 parents and children, who joyfully explored the maze and contributed their own artistic creations on its walls. The paper maze was displayed at D. Park for six months, serving both recreational and exhibition purposes.

After its successful exhibition, major sections of the maze were donated to PlayRight, a local organization focused on play-based learning. The maze continued to be reused in various outdoor and indoor events over the following two years, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

This record-breaking project exemplifies our dedication to promoting sustainable creativity—an ethos we carry forward today as UNGP for SDGs, as we continue to advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
